Meteorite Heart, 2012
Bronze cast, 13x 15x18x cm
Created during a residency at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop, Huntly, Scotland
Before it was organic, life was mineral. Meteorites brought to Earth the founding elements of life. This piece imagines that earlier moment: a heart that does not yet belong to a body, but to the cosmos. Dark and dense mass, it carries within it the memory of an interstellar journey — and the promise, buried in matter, of what will one day beat.
